6-6-08: Orion Seafood and the AZA announce Partnership
The Association of Zoos and Aquariums
(AZA) and Orion Seafood today announced
a partnership that will support
ocean conservation through the
sale of all-natural environmentally
sustainable Healthy Oceans® Shrimp.
“AZA-accredited aquariums and zoos are leaders in protecting wildlife and promoting sustainability, which are important values to Orion as well,” said AZA President and CEO Jim Maddy. “Orion’s commitment is evidenced by the care and quality taken in offering environmentally sustainable products.”
5-20-08: Congressional Leadership Day
AZA’s
8th annual Congressional Leadership
Day took place on Capitol Hill.
The event was themed around AZA’s
annual Party for the Planet® celebration.
While Congressional Leadership Day’s
main objective is to promote the
continued wildlife conservation efforts
of accredited zoo and aquariums,
it has also become one of the most
widely attended events on Capitol
Hill. The evening reception, sponsored
by the Congressional Zoo and Aquarium
Caucus co-chair, Spencer Bachus,
was held in the historic Cannon Caucus
room.
